New CW 14 Star Katie Phernetton with the first CW 14 Star, Maria Parmigiani
CW 14 is pleased to announce Katie Phernetton as the next CW 14 Star! Starting on Monday, April 1st, Katie will represent CW 14 on-air; online; and in the community.
The search from the next CW 14 Star began in January, with two open auditions at Paul Mitchell The School Green Bay.
Katie was selected as one of the Top 10 CW 14 Star hopefuls, and then as one of the Top 5.
As part of the search for the CW 14 Star, Katie took part in a photo event before a Phoenix game; got a makeover from Paul Mitchell The School Green Bay; shot two audition videos that were voted on by visitors to CW14online.com, and performed improv for charity at ComedyCity.
Katie Phernetton said, "I'm so excited for this opportunity and can't wait to start working with such talented people and get out in the community. It truly is an honor to be selected as the CW-14 Star."
Katie has previous experience in front of the camera with UWGB's Phlash TV, and behind the scenes working for the Green Bay Phoenix.
WLUK Vice President / General Manager Jay Zollar: ""We were thrilled with the caliber of finalists this year. All of them had great strengths and should be proud of how far they got in the selection process. Ultimately, we were deeply impressed by Katie's background and enthusiasm, and we look forward to working with her as our new CW 14 Star."

On Wednesday, March 27th during an all-new Arrow ... Katie Phernetton was announced as the next CW 14 Star!
Maria Parmigiani, the current CW 14 Star:
"This position has taught me a lot about what it means to work in TV, what it takes to put together a package that only runs on air for 1 minute (it's a lot of work...especially if you're a novice), and how to relax on a live shot (which is a lot harder then it may seem when you have: high school kids running around in front of you, a camera man in your face, and a producer in your ear giving you a count down!) This was a fun experience and I'm happy to have been a part of the first ever CW 14 Star in NE Wisconsin.
I've had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented people (in front and behind the camera) in Northeast Wisconsin, and I'm forever grateful for it. I'll never forget this past two years and all the talented and amazingly generous (with their knowledge) people I've met."
